I, herewith, announce that I am developing a webservice which allows anybody to comment on PubMed Indexed scientific articles irrespective of his academic status.
To be eligible to use PubMed Commons, you must be an author of a publication in PubMed. You will need an My NCBI account and an invitation to join PubMed Commons. Both are free of charge. (Says PubMed)
Signing up with a personal email requires extra steps for us to verify that you're a researcher – your institutional email gives you instant access. (Says ResearchGate)
On FB or TW its no problem to start a thread, but this would never be a unique or too stable place to pin one PMID per system.
I am a 15yrs post examination physician, but sorry, i have no paper with email address in pubmed and as a virtually thinking physician, i obviously do not run active or passive research in an academic setting.
So you dont want me, I will make it available for all of us.
I have currently no idea how to get the system running, but be sure: I'll get it soon.
- PMdisc is the hashtag for anybody proposing to chat about a paper.
sincerely yours
