Today, there are reports that CEO#8 went away cs revenue is negative and no-one had an idea how to reposition twitter.

                                            

I have a professional medical account reaching 8.000 followers these days and it took more than two years to grow-up to that mediocre level. Most users are stable, recurring and: Absolutely professional individuals, societies and journals in my major subject areas.

The greatest problem is, how to grow an account - which is useful for all and by this way is what twitter needs, useful contents (from view of the targeted population). In my case, this population is 10 k-users in the major subject areas and 200-500 kU for the overall resource.

Twitter does not let resources grow appropriately unless its porn, top-10-music, or other items running viral for unknown reasons. It is the theorem of followers-overflow consisting of only accounts in need of own followers which would hinder users from re-following other ppls accts, its like sorting spam emails personally.

                                            

Advertisements concerning the own acct. cost 30 cent per fruitful interaction - at zero revenue generation, so out of reach of a hobby user.

As a rule of thumb, no. of followers equals no. of posts. With 50 high quality posts monthly this means that there is no way to grow by content diffusion, by eusocialty.

Anybody interested in setting up such a highly curated account has to invest two years for reaching a very subcritical mass. The top Pathologists have 5kU, the top Nephrologists 3kU, the top spammers in Medicine have around 200kU. So i am not bad growing by +200/wk now.

A concrete troublesome particular nofunction is that there is no way to get a combined list of followers&followed of one account (there is 60% overlap and some accts at 3kU are not analyzable at that scale. TwitterAPI does not help cs. a no general-interest-phpist is able event to program the accession handshake algorithm cs of ill documentation and cs, if tech possible, the 'rate-limits' of calls to the dataset is two orders of magnitude too low to generate even this idiotic function, beyond, https is needed which costs quite pretty bulk of money for setup&monthly fees. So, expanding the own user pools by subbing to other users hand-picked (not all.....) subbies is a 2-times idiotic task.

                                            

Todays newspapers cited a vacuum of uncertainty what indeed ppl do with twitter and what they dont. About 99% are porn, spam and trash and beyond that, nothing of utmost importance is lacking, quite every company, institution, publisher, newspaper and so on has its channel running. There are gardens & heavens of curated accounts like mine, or in the fine arts field, on crime, on literature, on cultural identity and what so on.

This resource is a really gift to mankind !

I think many ppl who got into stocks for 1 or 4 k$ engagements did this to get and maintain things running, since there will be no nocom funding as wiki retrieves with millions of generous gifts in the 20$ range, at the price of a resource parasitizing 'open-workers' doing fruitful work for nothing and leaving control to - i left german wiki 10 years ago for best reasons. Twitter appears not to be such an egomanized monstrum like facebook with crude usage restrictions and rules and errors and obvious nonusability (I understand nothung...). I hate fb and I am off-fb for more than 6 Mo cs its terrible, and, as a natural person, i could not run two or more social media at the workload needed to maintain and feed channels.

Twitter thinks going into videos would be the solution. This is not the case at the current ill level of html5 based functionality and resource utilization at 4 or 10 or 100 MB per idiotic vid sucking bandwith which loads irrespective of user settings any trash which got posted - or nothing at all. A preview image and a click-on would patch the situation but nobody implements things like that. The mobile user knows what it means to burn 500 MB in 3 twitter hours even in video-poor channels.

Twitter should stay in the graphical abstract mode which is fair-use, by typing a 60kB jpg one shows 2 kB of readable text, undefined quanta of symbolized or aesthetic information, or a 1:1 screen valid, user-selected non-random preview image of the user posted video, if someone makes a really good vid uploader.

These lines are worth $Millions and mankind gets them all for free plus happy-content.

Twitter should provide an official API php program code set aka library with understandable functions and not useless and content-distributed/disturbed todolists to the unable programmer.

So its time to post these thoughts and to enjoy christmas days.
